Sex and gender are two common terms that are often mistaken for being something else, and the terms themselves are often used interchangeably. This means that people will often use gender when they mean sex, and vice versa. The fact is, for generations talk of sex and all that comes with it has been swept under the carpet, and often what is a serious discussion that needs to be had, can be labelled as ‘a phase’, or just disregarded entirely. Doing this is not healthy, and can lead to serious consequences later on.
